Hoppy (Supreme Magic) Two children are invited on stage to assist you. A nicely produced plaque, silk screened on heavy card, depicts a picture of 'Hoppy the Jumping Frog. The picture is slid into an envelope and given to one of the young helpers to hold at one side of the stage. An empty envelope is shown and given to the other child to hold at the opposite side. The magician states that he will cause the little frog to hoppity-hop from one envelope to the other. On the count of three, the children are asked to shout the word "Go".There are several false starts, the magician counting to two, two-and-a-half ,etc. and then adjusting the position of the boys holding the envelopes, and so on. Finally, however, the count of three is given, and the children shout "Go". Without showing that the frog has left one envelope for the other, the children are invited to shout "Go" again, one envelope being empty, the other still containing the picture of the frog. The audience are not impressed by this transparent maneuver on the part of the magician, and demand to see the frog really jump across from one envelope to the other. The count of three is given again, once more the children shout "Go", then the magician goes to the first envelope, the children see the card still inside it, but this turns out to be merely a cut-out frame. The frog has apparently jumped right out of the picture! However, 'Hoppy fails to turn up in the second envelope, so the magician goes with the boy to try and find it. The audience shriek with surprise when the cut-out frog is found hanging on the boy's back!.

Jackpot Monte (Dubreuil & Castillon) This effect was directly inspired by Pete Biro's adaptation of Karl Fulve's "Mexican Monte" to the Partial Ascanio Spread. This routine was designed so that the double-faced card would not be dealt on the table (as in the versions of Biro and Fulves) but would become one of the sandwich cards seen throughout the effect. See KABBALA, Vol. II, No. 5 (Nov., 1972) for further information about the Partial Ascanio Spread and effects based on that move.

Knotted by Supreme Magic An unusual trick that's really a gag! - a gag that has a magical flavor, leaving the audience amused and yet still slightly puzzled! Can you knot a ring onto a rope? We don't think so, and to date we have met no one who could! That seems an extraordinary statement to make until you read our question again, carefully. Can you knot a RING onto a rope? Of course you can't! Certainly 99 people out of every hundred will notice nothing in the rather peculiar phrasing of the question! It is a clever little twist on the formation of the sentence which is made good use of here, creating a delayed action gag that is extremely effective.

Marlo's Miracle - The Perfect Stop Trick (Instructions only) The best of any stop trick ever encountered. Most of them depend on psychology, which often doesn't work. In this method, the spectator is never influenced in any way. He is never told to deal the cards in any special manner. He is simply told to deal the cards face down, one at a time, and stop at any card he desires. This card is then turned over. The value of this card is then used to count down to the next card, which is also in turn used to arrive at a third card. Eventually, but surely and positively, the selected card is arrived at.
